Chamption Talent No Longer Represent Ingrid Tarrant
Ingrid has been one of the most popular reporters on ITV1's This Morning, having presented various strands within the programme, including a series of "Behind the Scenes of..." and "Haunted House". She also presented TV Mail, a 52 week series for BBC 1, Forces Sweethearts on BBC1 and Tarrants' Way on ITV1. Ingrid successfully reached the finals of Deadline on ITV2 and ITV1's Britain's Best Dish. She was also one of the celebrity jurors in the acclaimed true-to-life show The Verdict for BBC2 and competed on the tracks of Silverstone in The Race for Sky One.
Ingrid is passionate about driving and owns a rare 1938 Bentley Open-Tourer which belonged to her late father and a 1960 Morris Minor convertible. She has learnt car mechanics and maintenance and holds the prestigious Advanced Driver's Certificate and the Novice Racing Driver's Licence.
Ingrid is a keen and intrepid traveller - the more remote, extreme and challenging the conditions more exciting she finds it. She supports numerous causes and where possible combines her adventurous exploits with raising money for charity. Ingrid has run the London Marathon and Great North Run, trekked in Peru, Nepal and Bhutan and climbed to the summit of Kilimanjaro. She took part in sailing a leg of the Global Challenge and drove in a car rally through Southern India. Each Spring, Ingrid competes in the 'Wild Girls on Snow' challenges in Klosters to help raise money for children's charities in England and Switzerland.
Having visited over 100 countries in the world, Ingrid is close to realising her childhood ambition to see them all. She has presented several items for ITV1's Wish You Were Here?..., including a road and rail journey up to the lost city of the Incas in Peru, safaris in Tanzania and Kenya and a trip to Egypt to see the Pyramids and sail up the Nile. She uses her journalistic skills to write about her travels for which she has won a prestigious Travel Writers' Award.
Ingrid is often heard on radio shows such as Radio 5 Live, BBC regional stations and LBC discussing the day's news topics. As an accomplished DIY hobbyist, Ingrid is adept at painting, decorating and undertaking small building projects. She designs and makes her own soft furnishings and accessories, restores furniture and renovates properties.
She adores children and animals. She has four children, two grandchildren, two dogs, three cats, an Arab horse and her foal, chickens, rabbits, ducks and a selection of rescued animals which regularly pass through her Dr. Doolittle hands! Her widely acclaimed book 'The Rabbit Whisperer' has been printed in hardback and paperback. She is a hands-on supporter of the RSPCA and patron of the Rabbit Welfare association.
Having trained to be a Fashion Designer, Ingrid set up her own label and ran a thriving export business turning over in excess of £1/4 million in her first year. She broke into the UK market after exhibiting her label "St Maur" at London Fashion Week and opened a separate retail outlet in the Kings Road, Chelsea.
To fund the start of her business Ingrid freelanced at ITN before joining them for short contract work in the Newsroom covering special events such as the Election and the Iran war.
In 1982 Ingrid joined TV-AM three months prior to its launch as Assistant News Editor, leaving after 6 years to begin her enduring career as a freelance journalist with regular columns in Me and She magazines. In the mid '90s, Ingrid became the Celebrity Reporter for OK! Magazine.
She regularly writes holiday features for Weekend Mail and contributes to family, health and beauty related items in a variety of newspapers and magazines including the Daily Mail and Bellamagazine.
